Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) successfully conducted its Integrated Management System (IMS) Training: Awareness and Documentation Course on July 21โ22, 2025, at the Learning Resource Center, Surigao City Campus.
The training was spearheaded by University President Dr. Rowena A. Plando, alongside the Universityโs key officials. Also in attendance were the campus directors of the four SNSU campuses, college deans, office heads, and members of the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) team. Key topics were discussed by the invited speaker, Ms. Katherine TinoyโSenior Lead Auditor and Consultant at JBDC Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment Consultancy. She emphasized the integration of Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) into a unified IMS framework.
According to Ms. Tinoy, understanding interrelated processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering continual improvement across disciplines are essential for achieving cohesive and effective organizational performance. In addition, Ms. Tinoy prepared an interactive learning activity workshop and group discussions using actual university scenarios to reinforce practical understanding of the requirements of the IMS.
This initiative is part of the universityโs ongoing efforts to strengthen its readiness for upcoming accreditations and audits, reinforcing its commitment to quality assurance and adherence to international standards.
