OBE Framework

The College of Technology (COT) is dedicated to providing cutting-edge education through Outcome-Based Education (OBE) standards, following the policies and guidelines established by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). All programs offered by COT comply with CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 13, s. 2023 for the Bachelor of Industrial Technology (BIndTech), CMO No. 86, s. 2017 for the Bachelor of Engineering Technology (BET), and CMO 62 s. 2017 for Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM), and Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM).
Anchored from Outcomes-based Education (OBE) systems and principles, all programs offered by the College of Technology are meticulously designed. At its core, OBE is centered on defining clear and measurable Course Outcomes (COs) derived from Program Outcomes (POs), which in turn stem from Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), all harmonized with the University’s Vision and Mission. Integral to the OBE framework of the college is the setting up of clear expectations of results that students must achieve for every competency taught or the Intended Learning Outcome (ILO). These outcomes encompass not only specific knowledge and skills but also the development of critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and professional attitudes essential for success in the workforce. Mastery and application of these outcomes, rather than mere coverage of content is being emphasized. With varied teaching-learning activities (TLAs) assessment methods, including projects, exams, presentations, and practical demonstrations, we strive to continuously monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to guide their learning journey.
As part of the college’s commitment, we willingly submit to rigorous evaluation and accreditation processes through various esteemed external accrediting bodies to ensure continuous improvement and accountability. By subjecting all programs offered by the college to external scrutiny and assessment, we aim to uphold the integrity of our educational programs, foster a culture of excellence, and continuously enhance the quality of the learning experience for our students. Through ongoing evaluation and accreditation, we strive to identify areas for improvement, implement best practices, and adapt to evolving industry needs, thereby reaffirming our dedication to providing our students with the best possible education as we empower our students to become lifelong learners, critical thinkers, God-fearing skilled professionals, and entrepreneurs ready to make meaningful contributions to society preparing them for success in their chosen fields.
