๐ด๐ข๐๐ข๐ ๐ก 5, 2025 โ Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) officially strengthened its commitment to educator development as it entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Caraga Regional Office for the Scholarship for Staff and Instructors Knowledge Advancement Program (SIKAP). The MOA signing was held in the presence of CHED Caraga officials, regional DHEI partners, and university officials.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of CHED Caraga Regional Director Dr. Nelia C. Alibin, SIKAP Regional Focal Person Mr. Alexander C. Zambrano, and key SNSU officials led by University President Dr. Rowena A. Plando. Joining her were Vice Presidents Dr. Mauricio S. Adlaon (Administration), Dr. Romy Jun A. Sunico (Research, Extension and Innovation), and Dr. Ronita E. Talingting (Academic Affairs).
In her welcome address, SNSU President Dr. Rowena A. Plando expressed gratitude to CHED Caraga for the trust placed in the university, stating, โThis milestone is not just an achievement for our university, but a significant step forward for the entire education community in our region.โ
The CHED-approved graduate programsโMaster of Arts in Education, major in General Science and in Englishโunderscore SNSUโs dedication to academic excellence and regional capacity-building. As a DHEI, the university pledged to uphold all SIKAP guidelines under CMO No. 09, s. 2025, and play an active role in enhancing teacher competencies.
This partnership not only reflects CHEDโs confidence in SNSUโs academic excellence but also marks a shared commitment to professional growth and educational transformation across the Caraga region.
