The College of Teacher Education (CTE) of Surigao del Norte State University – Surigao City offers four teacher education programs namely; Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd), Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd), Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd), and Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTEd).

OBE Framework

The College of Teacher Education (CTE) is commited to deliver high quality education through Outcome-Based Education (OBE) paradigm, aligned with the policies and guidelines set by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Specifically, our programs dedicatedly adhere to CMO No. 74 s. 2017 for Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd), CMO No. 75 s. 2017 for Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd), CMO No. 80 s. 2017 for Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd), and CMO No. 79 s. 2017 for Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTEd).
Our curriculum is designed with a clear structure: course outcomes (COs) are formulated based on program outcomes (POs), which are in turn anchored on program educational objectives (PEOs), all of which are aligned with the Vision and Mission of the University. A vital component of our framework is the incorporation of a feedback mechanism for continuous quality improvement (CQI) in program implementation as actively engaged by all stakeholders geared towards continued enhancement of the college’s program design and implementation to ensure its relevance and effectiveness.
To assess and evaluate the attainment of COs, POs, and PEOs, we employ a variety of mechanisms, including examinations, projects, portfolios, exit surveys upon graduation, graduate tracer studies conducted 2 to 5 years post-graduation, and employer feedback surveys, among others.
Furthermore, our programs undergo rigorous assessment by esteemed quality local and international quality assurance bodies such as the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), the CHED Office of Programs and Standards through the issuance of Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC), and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The results of these assessments serve as invaluable inputs for CQI actions, aimed at enhancing the quality of graduates and refining the systems and procedures of the college.

4 year BEEd, BPEd, BTVTEd, BSEd– an average grade of 85% and must pass the entrance exam.
