SNSU Holds Contest for University Logo; Top 3 winners named

A total of 28 individuals took part in the logo making contest on July 13, 2022 at the Learning Resource Center of Surigao Norte State University.  The contestants were mostly alumni, numbering to 17, while 9 students participated, and 2 guest lecturers. Only three were females while 25 were males.

According to Jonas Robert L. Miranda, SNSU BAC chair & Alumni Association In-Charge, disclosed that the first prize winner in the logo making contest is Ms.Claress Rustia Dalleda who will receive 10,000 pesos.  Second Prize winner of 3,000 pesos is Stephan Gustav Gultiano, and the third prize winner of 2,000 is Jonathan Sumalinog.  All top three winners are alumni of SSCT (now SNSU).

The winning logo is still subject for approval by the Board of Regents of SNSU and for this reason, all three winning designs will be presented to the BOR as there could be elements in the two designs that might be considered before the official logo will be unveiled to the public.

To recall, an online information regarding the logo contest was sent out on July 11 where the guidelines were drawn. Open to all alumni, students, as well as the faculty and staff, the criteria for the said logo contest include concept or relevance ( 40%), originality( 30%, and creativity and impact (30%).  An important requirement stated in the guideline was that the logo should include the name SNSU and that the design must effectively portray the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of the university.
