SSCT MALIMONO HOLDS IN-PERSON 20TH COMMENCEMENT RITES

SSCT Malimono hosted its 20th Commencement Rites with the theme “ Quality Education through Innovation and Creativity” on June 24, 2022 at the Malimono Gym. It was the  first in-person commencement ceremony after two years. A total of 112 students from three programs, Bachelor of Science in Fisheries, Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and Bachelor in Secondary Education, together with their parents, participated in the ceremony.

SSCT Malimono Class 2022 is comprised of 112 students from three programs; Bachelor of Science in Fisheries, Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English.

The event was attended by SSCT officials Dr. Ronita E. Talingting, SSCT City Campus Director, representing Dr. Gregorio Z. Gamboa, Jr., the College President, Dr. Carmelin P. Mosa, the Dean of the College of Teacher Education, SSCT Malimono Campus Director, Dr. Leonielyn G. Malicay and the Program Chairs of SSCT Malimono.

Dr. Ronita E. Talingting (right), representing the college president, Dr. Gregorio Z. Gamboa, Jr., graced the event. Dr. Bernard C. Gomez (left) is the Program Chair of Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and the Dean of the College of Agri-fisheries and Allied Sciences (CAAS).

Director Nilo S. Katada, the Regional Director of Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources -Caraga, delivered the commencement speech. He emphasized the need to achieve food sovereignty in the country amidst the pandemic and the ongoing global conflict. He encouraged the graduates to engage in farming and fisheries using the latest technology.

The sole graduate to have a Latin honor, Ms. Shirilyn Rose M. Escorpion, delivered the Welcome Address. She expressed her gratitude to the people who helped them in their academic journey.

Ms. Shirilyn Rose M. Escorpion, cum laude, from the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English, is the sole graduate with Latin honor.

The SSCT Malimono  community was delighted with the success of the event.
