The tree planting activity was undertaken on the 3rd day which was on October 20, 2018. With the assistance of Datu Dominador Rabuya and the Mamanwas who prepared in advance the area where will the 100 Falcata seedlings be planted, the whole BPSS officers cooperatively joined in as soon as the team arrived in the area. After such, when the honorable captain of Brgy. Jubgan Hon. Harry Amalla together with Brgy. Kagawad Rodulfo Balabala arrived, a short program was conducted. The SSCT Faculty who also attended the said event were pleased when Brgy. Capt Amalla and Datu Rabuya gave their respective messages of gratitude. In their messages, they both expressed their gratefulness for choosing Brgy Jubgan as SSCT’s recipient barangay. “The help that the SCCT lent to the people of Jubgan particularly to the Mamanwa Tribe will truly mark in our hearts,” Datu Rabuya stressed. In return, Dr. Anabelle N. Diaz gladly expressed her sincere appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality that the Mamanwas showed. When the short program ended, the BPSS team simultaneously picked up the pieces of trash within the vicinity as part of their advocacy in environmental protection. Moreover, the BPSS officers also got a chance to personally talk and socialized with the tribe which made them comfortable with the visitors.
