๐๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ซ ๐, ๐๐๐๐ – Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) warmly welcomed technical-vocational educators from across the country as it co-hosted the 7th POTTE National Convention, held at the SNSU Gymnasium, in partnership with the Philippine Organization for TLE and TVL Educators (POTTE).
Gracing the event were Surigao City Mayor Hon. Pablo Yves โPaulโ L. Dumlao II, TESDA Regional Director Florencio F. Sunico Jr., POTTE President Dr. Josephine G. Figueroa, Schools Division Superintendent of DEPED Surigao City Division Dr. Marilou B. Dedumo, CESO V, and various officials from TESDA and SNSU.
In her message, Dr. Plando expressed heartfelt gratitude to POTTE for trusting the university as a venue, calling the gathering a celebration of passion, dedication, and shared purpose. She also extended her sincere appreciation to Mayor Dumlao for the unwavering support he continues to provide to SNSU and to POTTE. Dr. Plando emphasized that the Mayorโs commitment to education and workforce development strengthens the universityโs initiatives and creates more opportunities for Surigaonons and educators nationwide.
Anchored on the theme โToward a Future-Proof Technical and Vocational Profession: The Role of TLE and TVL Practitioners in Digital, Sustainable, and Inclusive Education,โ the convention underscored the urgency of preparing Filipino learners for the demands of a rapidly evolving digital world. Dr. Plando highlighted that as industries transform through automation, artificial intelligence, and smart technologies, TLE and TVE educators remain at the frontlines of shaping future-ready graduates.
She also praised the CHEDโTESDA Joint Memorandum Circular, which strengthens pathways between higher education and technical-vocational training. โThrough TLE and TVE, we are not just teaching skillsโwe are shaping destinies and producing nation-builders,โ she said, inspiring educators to innovate, collaborate, and continue uplifting communities through their work.
As the three-day convention commenced, Dr. Plando encouraged educators to engage fully in the learning sessions and collaborations ahead. โLet this gathering ignite dreams, uplift our spirits, and strengthen our mission,โ she said, reaffirming SNSUโs commitment to championing lifelong learning through its LINGAS framework and to supporting a future-ready teaching workforce.
