SNSU Celebrates 19th Grand Alumni Homecoming: A Night of Hearts, Legacies, and Milestones

September 8, 2025 — Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) brought together generations of graduates in a night filled with nostalgia, pride, and celebration during the 19th SNSAT–SSCT–SNSU Grand Alumni Homecoming held under the theme “Homecoming of Hearts, Celebration of Legacies.”

In her keynote address, SNSU President Dr. Rowena A. Plando warmly welcomed the Board of Management, Alumni Association leaders, officers and members of various batches, and the Host Batch 2000. She expressed heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate the legacy and growth of the institution she has personally witnessed over the years.

Dr. Plando reflected on the university’s transformative journey—from its humble beginnings as Surigao del Norte School of Arts and Trades (SNSAT) in 1969, to Surigao State College of Technology (SSCT) in 1998, and finally as Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) in 2022. “I have seen this institution grow, and tonight is not only a reunion of hearts but also a celebration of how far we have come together,” she shared.

The evening also honored exceptional alumni through the MOSAKA Awards, recognizing graduates who have excelled in their respective fields and have brought pride to the university.

The homecoming concluded with renewed bonds, laughter, and a shared commitment to sustain SNSU’s legacy of excellence, service, and nation-building for generations to come.

“For inclusive growth and empowered lives for a sustainable future.”
